Christchurch City Council’s Planning Committee recommended today that the Council approve the request from King’s Education for the planting of a memorial tree, with a remembrance plaque, in Latimer Square. The memorial would recognise King’s Education staff and students who died in the 22 February 2011 earthquake.

On , the new Transitional St Albans Community Centre will open in Colombo St, St Albans. The transitional facility has been supplied by Lions Clubs and will be managed and operated by Christchurch City Council.  It will provide a community venue for recreational, educational and low-impact sports groups in St Albans and neighbouring suburbs in Christchurch.
