Well miracles do happen…. yesterday 10 September 2013 a digger turned up in the street and started to clear away the remains of the Billens building that has been lying in the street since 7th December 2012. On 27 June, Justice Collins ordered EQC to pay the legal fees of Bryan Staples, after EQC had unnecessarily dragged him into its proceeding.  The outcome solidified my respect for the New Zealand judiciary.  EQC had clearly dragged him into the proceeding without justification and the judge ordered EQC to pay its costs.
