The Anglican Church has made the decision to bring the ChristChurch Cathedral down, but an engineer behind one of the alternative options put before the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority thinks this is a big mistake.
Mike King says if the people of Christchurch want it - if the will is there - the cathedral can be saved.
What's more, it can be made safer than building codes demand and be done so more cheaply than building a whole new church.
