The Earthquake Commission (EQC) would like to invite you to make an appointment to visit our mobile Customer Contact Unit at venues throughout Christchurch.

If you need help understanding your claim, or simply have questions or issues you’d like resolved, please make an appointment to meet with one of our friendly, experienced Claims Advisors by calling 0800 DAMAGE (0800 326 243).

EQC's Mobile Customer Contact Team will be helping people with claims at the following Earthquake Assistance Centres:

  • Avondale Golf Course,  Cnr Breezes and Wainoni Road, Monday to Friday, 10.30am - 6pm

  • Kaiapoi EQR HUb, 11 Cass Street, Kaiapoi (Thursdays)

Staff from CERA and Community Law are also operating from these centres.


EQC home assessment phase complete

EQC has completed its assessment programme for residential houses in Canterbury.  During the past 15 months we have assessed a total of 447,943 properties. 

This consists of:

  • 81,775 full inspections before 22 February 2011
  • 182,838 rapid assessments post 22 February 2011
  • 196,468 full assessments post 22 February
  • A total of 461,081 inspections

Canterbury Home Repair Programme

The Earthquake Commission and Fletcher EQR have today announced their targets for the repair of about 100,000 earthquake damaged homes in the Canterbury Home Repair Programme.

EQC General Manager Customer Services Bruce Emson says the main target for the Canterbury Home Repair Programme is 80 percent of homes in the managed repair programme completed by 2014.
