ROADWORKS: Gayhurst Rd's long-lived traffic cones were brightened by flowers for the February quake anniversary.

There will be major disruptions to Gayhurst Rd from tomorrow as a major road project begins in Dallington.

Gayhurst Rd, from Mundys Road to Glenarm Terrace, will now be one-way and one-laned, for northbound traffic only.

McConnell Dowell is beginning road and stormwater pipe reconstruction which will take several months to complete. The work follows the repair of wastewater pipes on Gayhurst Rd, damaged by the earthquakes.

South-bound traffic at the Cresswell Ave northern end of Gayhurst Rd will be detoured via Mundys Rd, Cheam and Ferner Sts to Locksley Ave and Glenarm Tce for the duration of this road reconstruction.

Residents will have access to their properties, but will have to exit and enter following the one-way pattern.
