Tuam Street has reopened to traffic for the first time since the 22 February 2011 earthquake, and is now accessible as a west-to-east one-way system.

Part of Tuam Street will be one lane, as several buildings still need safety cordons around them.

The area of High Street south of Tuam St remains within the CBD Red Zone with its own access point.

The progression of the cordon reduction can be seen here http://www.rebuildchristchurch.co.nz/content/christchurch-cbd-cordon-reduction-map although tonight’s change will not be updated until tomorrow.
