Release: Foundation Corporate Trust
Foundation Corporate Trust Moves to Christchurch CBD
Foundation Corporate Trust (FCT) has opened a new office in downtown Christchurch and appointed Jacob Blakely as the company’s first regional manager for Christchurch.
FCT moved into the Duncan Cotterill building in Victoria Street on 12 January and Jacob started as regional manager on the same day. The newly-created role will see him building relationships with the local business community and driving FCT’s growth in the region.
FCT Managing Director Matthew Lancaster said “The capital needed to support the rebuild and Christchurch’s general recovery has created opportunity in the region for our business and requires a regional manager resident in Christchurch focused specifically on Christchurch and the wider South Island business catchment.”
Regional Manager to drive growth
Born and raised in Christchurch, Jacob joins FCT as Regional Manager after ten years in the funds management and legal industries in Australia and New Zealand.
Most recently, Jacob was Product Manager for international investment funds for AMP Capital in Sydney. Prior to that, he worked in funds management as an associate director for Macquarie Funds Group and as a solicitor in Russell McVeagh’s Auckland banking and finance group.
Jacob said “After several years working across the Tasman, it’s great to be back in Canterbury. There has been considerable change in the finance industry in NZ which FCT welcomes and is committed to. My new role will be a great opportunity to grow FCT’s business in the region and to implement its plan to make investing safer.”
Jacob’s career highlights include launching an offshore agricultural fund that raised over $450m to invest in Australia and Brazil and establishing AMP Capital’s first Luxemburg UCITS fund platform.
He graduated from the University of Canterbury with a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Laws in 2003.
