About Look AFter Me

Look After Me’ is a website that connects guests with authentic kiwi hosts, for in-home short-term accommodation. Our aim is to ensure mature travellers have safe and memorable and affordable travelling experiences through genuine connections.

We are a 'Virtual Hotel', with the website our reception, and guest rooms all over the country. Our guests are typically women travelling by themselves for whatever reason, couples holidaying, cyclists exploring the new trails, walkers or trampers or guests attending events (like Ellerslie Flower Show, Art Deco, Fieldays, Cup week). A help-yourself breakfast, parking, email and a decent coffee are all usually included and most of our rooms are priced $65 - $$90 per night, for a single guest. We have a growing inventory in Christchurch and welcome enquiries about offering to become a host. We have a small sign up fee (permanently reduced for Christchurch residents) and no commission.

Guests are encouraged to stay with hosts with shared interests (gardens, recipes, wine, literature, fishing, grandkids etc.) Some hosts offer pick-ups and home-cooked meals, all of which are fairly priced and below standard commercial rates.
 
All hosts are vetted and properties checked for quality to ensure they meet the requirements of our three standards of accommodation (Basic, Classic and Premium). Like TradeMe and Trip Advisor, it is possible to post and view others feedback.

The Look After Me team provides hosts with a ‘hotel-in-a-handbag’, which includes NZ-made toiletries and chocolates for guest and businesscards.
