Gayhurst Road – Dallington – Wastewater pipeline repair *update*, Stage 2

We are starting Stage 2 repairs to the wastewater pipeline through the roundabout at Gayhurst Road and McBratneys Road from Monday 16 April 2012 for approximately 3 weeks.

This notice updates the information in the works notice "Birchfield Ave, Gayhurst Road, Moyna Ave - Dallington - Wastewater *UPDATE* [1]" issued in January 2012.

  • The work through the roundabout is being undertaken in two stages. Stage 1 through the north and west side of the roundabout has been completed.
  • Stage 2 involves work on the south and west side of the roundabout which will commence on Monday 16 April 2012 for a duration of approximately 3 weeks.

Traffic management for local streets

  • The following traffic movements will not be possible at the Gayhurst Road/McBratneys Road roundabout:
  • It will not be possible to turn left into McBratneys Road when heading north (towards Burwood Park) along Gayhurst Road.
  • It will not be possible to go straight through the roundabout when heading west (towards Dallington Tce) along McBratneys Road.
  • On Gayhurst Road (between Coopers Road and McBratneys Road) two way traffic flow will be maintained.
  • At the intersection of Gayhurst Road and Coopers Road a priority give way will be in place during the work on the manhole to be completed by Wednesday 18 April 2012.
  • Traffic will not be able to exit from Coopers Road into Gayhurst Road.
  • The current stop and go system on Gayhurst Road (from Claydon Place) will continue to operate.
  • Detours will be in place along Strathfield Avenue via Gayhurst Road (shown in blue on the map).

  • Access to driveways may be affected but residents will be notified in advance.
  • This work will take place from 7am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday; it may include some Saturday work if necessary and is expected to be completed by the end of April 2012.
  • The work will not impact current power, telecommunications, sewer, water or gas services.
  • The work may result in noise, vibration and dust if there are dry weather conditions. All works are subject to favourable weather and on-site conditions.
  • During the period of construction, we ask that you observe special cordons around construction areas for you and your family's safety.
  • For any further information about this work, please contact the MacDow Fletcher Infrastructure Rebuild Team between the hours of 8:30am and 5pm Monday to Friday on free phone 0508 718 719. Any emergency calls made outside these hours will be diverted to a Site Engineer.
