  • Preparation work will commence on Friday 2 March 2012.
  • The first part of the preparation work will entail the cutting of the asphalt along the lane at 57 and 67 Birchfield Avenue and along the length of the lane at 49 and 51 Birchfield Avenue.
  • The second part of the preparation work along Wrey Jury Lane will commence on Monday 5 March 2012 for approximately three to four days.
  • During all the preparation works, vehicle access may be limited at times.

Stages 1 to 3:

  • Due to the nature of the work and for residents’ safety, the lanes will be closed for through traffic. Therefore resident vehicle access will be restricted during the hours of 7am to 5:30pm.
  • Footpaths will be closed, but we will secure safe pedestrian access by means of a contractor escorting the residents.
  • • Please contact us if you have any specific access requirements that we need to consider e.g. Nurse Maude, Meals on Wheels or other planned works on your property.
  • We may need to enter private properties in the affected work area to install and connect resident's laterals from their property boundary to the new sewer main.
  • An access and restoration agreement has been distributed for affected residents that we require property owners to complete and sign. Without affected owners' consent we will be unable to connect your wastewater line to the Council owned wastewater line. Please return the forms back to us by Tuesday 6 March 2012. You can call us on free phone 0508 718 719 when this form is complete and we will arrange for it to be collected from you.
  • This work will take place from 7am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday; it may include some Saturday work if necessary and is expected to be completed by Monday 19 March 2012.
  • The works may have an impact on the sewer pipelines of the properties directly in the area of work, but will not impact current power, water or gas services. We may knock on your door and request individual residents to limit their wastewater use while we are connecting their wastewater lateral to the main sewer main.
  • The work may result in noise, vibration and dust if there are dry weather conditions. All works are subject to favorable weather and on-site conditions.
  • During the period of construction, we ask that you observe special cordons around construction areas for you and your family's safety.
  • For any other information about this work, please contact the MacDow Fletcher Infrastructure Rebuild Team between the hours of 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday on free phone 0508 718 719. Any emergency calls made outside these hours will be diverted to a Site Engineer.

We will endeavor to keep any disruptions to a minimum. We apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience while we do this work.
