Project Christmas a success (again)!
Rebuild Christchurch and volunteers have just completed delivering 280 parcels for Canterbury families just in time for the big day.
The project was very well received with many messages of thanks flowing through already from those that have received parcels.
The popularity of the project this year exceeded our predictions but of the 350 nominations we were able to deliver to 280 families, a massive increase from 2011. In 2013 our aim will be of course to once again increase the number to help more Canterbury families in need.
To those people that nominated families a very big thanks - the success of the project relies on your nominations.
Of course a big shout out to the supporters of the Project Christmas 2012 - The Mainland Foundation, The Breeze, State Insurance, Miles Continental, PAK'nSAVE Northlands, The Warehouse Blenheim Road and She Chocolat - without them we would not be able to continue such a needed project in our community.
Merry Christmas from the Rebuild Christchurch Team
Project Christmas 2012
Nominations have now opened for Project Christmas, they close on the 16th of December 2012.
The Rebuild Christchurch Foundation was set up to support and bring together the communities of Christchurch and Canterbury following the 2010-11 earthquakes. For the second year running we will be initiating ‘Project Christmas’, which aims to help families who are struggling to provide a Christmas for their family.
Working alongside social agencies, the Rebuild Christchurch Foundation ensure that they will be helping the people and families who really need and deserve it, but normally wouldn’t ask. Last year we helped 76 families. This year our aim is 300 families so everyone can enjoy their Christmas.
