Damage was extensive. houses moved on foundations and sunk into the ground. Liquefaction almost half a meter high in some places. Many of this area may not be inhabitable or be rebuilt on.
SH74 on the ring route around Christchurch was closed at Bromley due to major road damage. This was fixed soon after the quake.
Bromley does back into Aranui/Dallington/Bexley which have all been badly affected.
