Dallington

The small row of shops on the corner of Woodham Road & Gloucester St has been damaged badly. Half of Kingsford St believed to be still without power. Water remains an issue with a water truck was parked in McBratneys road.

St Pauls School and Church in Dallington is also a major concern – with the back of the church also broken.

Five months on it seems most of the temporary stuff is done. But a feeling of nothing much else is happening is in the air here. The church building mentioned above and one house have been demolished. People feel as though that we would  be further down the road with recovery and seeing the builders flat out repairing or rebuilding our propertys, unfortunately its taking a lot of time.

Below are a list of works notices that are specific to Dallington, you can full a full list of Road and Work notices for Christchurch here.

When the new Gayhurst Bridge and the approaches are finished I would like to see a "Welcome to Dallington" sign in that area with a playground/rest area for walkers. Also a memorial to St Paul's.

A transition phase where temporary safe cycleways are clearly signposted. (Use existing footpaths) Protect existing footpaths. Will help demolition people too.
