The CSFVC distribution centre at Sydenham Community Centre has now closed and has been replaced by a new distribution centre with the same members operating out of 3/81 Tennyson St in Sydenham.

Day 819 - shift to Hoon Hay a success

The first co-op packing at Hoon Hay Presbyterian was a roaring success today and packed 450 orders which is also a record. Lots of people turned up early to help set up the hall and talk over what was to be done. A number of times, the packing was stopped while a problem was discussed and then solved.

While a process plan was worked out on Monday, it took a real live experiment to see if it would work. As a result of today's experience, a lot was learnt by everyone.

Today the last bit of concrete path required at 124 Garlands Rd was poured. There is still a small bit left to do under the water tap for filling pots etc. Hope to get that done this Friday.

Day 810 - Council booboo

The letter received from the council last week containing the PIM for 124 Garlands Rd was a booboo.

Todays working bee was short of bees so just a little bit got done at the Garlands Rd site. One section of concrete path poured and just one left to go next week.

This afternoon was spent helping to shift a very nice filipino family of 5 from Addington to Hoon Hay.

Day 800 - Rotary container

This morning, Hornby Rotary sent a nice big pressie.

A container!

Now we can get our stuff out of the rain .

This is to be used for temporary storage while the new base is being built. Plus a place to dive out of the rain, sleet and hail for a nice warm cuppa.

Mike the driver arrived at 9am, Dale, a former crane driver and the next door neighbour took charge of stabilising the container. Sibash and other Mike helped as well.

Day 800 - Elaine provides storage for catering stuff

Today Sibash Moti started working for Addington Action. Sibash will be working every Friday for 16 weeks from 9 till 4 helping Mike get stuff, carry stuff, and put stuff away as well as get stuff ready for the Saturday and sometimes Sunday working bees at 124 Garlands Rd.

So today the job was shifting all the catering stuff to Elaine's place. Elaine who runs has kindly provided storage space in her garage and a spare bedroom.

Day 800 - Tracy at 7am

Every Friday morning between 6.30am and 7am, Tracy processes all the orders for the Christchurch South Fruit & Veggie Co-op.
Then Tracy goes to her day job.

There are 405 orders from 18 of the 22 CSFVC distribution centers for fruit and veggie packs next week. The orders will be packed and distributed on Wednesday 8 May.
