Since Mike posted his last blog, there have been a number of changes in Addington Action Inc. On 18 December 2013, the members voted to close down Addington Action Inc, and form the CSFVC into an independent organisation.

Truck driver Ricky from Canterbury Freight now comes every Wednesday to pickup the pallets and empty crates from the CSFVC packing centre to return them for a credit. At the moment it is around 12.30pm but it is hoped it may be possible at 11am so someone from the co-op can be around to sign the returns docket.

Invites have been sent by email to the people who place the weekly orders from each distribution centre.

6 have accepted the invitation so far and clicked the link to take them to the TradeGecko website, where they need to choose a password.

They will then be taken to a web page used to place orders.

They need to go back next week after collecting the money and place an order for up to 50 $10 fruit & veggie packs.

The usual weekly Thursday deadline still applies. ...

The on-line shop for Christchurch South Fruit & Veggie Co-op (CSFVC) is now open.

The shop is hosted on the internet, uses TradeGecko and is a bit like a virtual warehouse.

The annual subscription was paid today for a 20% discount over the monthly subscription and is USD$468 or NZD$567.94

The adoption of Tradegecko follows a sucessful trial with the Burnham Distribution Centre. Thanks Kezia Tapsell and Keryn Paekau for being game enough to try it out.

Spreydon School Principal Richard Wardrop recently visited the CSFVC packing centre at Hoon Hay Presbyterian. The school committee have now decided to join the co-op for weekly fruiot & veggie packs. There first orders start in a few weeks.

The job today has been creating the production account at Tradegecko for the Christchurch South Fruit & Veggie Co-op (CSFVC).

The free trial is about to expire in a few days. The trial was used by Andrew Donoghue of Wellington to make sure the proposed system would work with the on-line shop and the existing accounts on Xero. The trial was a success.

The head of an earthquake recovery group helping fix uninsured homes has resigned amid a lengthy battle over a building consent.

Earlier tonight an emergency meeting was held by the Christchurch South Fruit and Veggie Co-op (CSFVC) in the wake of the announced impending resignation of Mike Peters. 16 of the 20 distribution centres were able to send voting representatives at very short notice.

David Harman of Harman Motors recently made contact and kindly offered a free maintenance booking on an Addington Action vehicle as a way to help with earthquake recovery efforts in South Christchurch. Staff donated their labour and David offering to cover cost of parts.

650 orders @ 5.8 kg each = 3,770 kg
